October Wine Tasting & Festive Feast
For the October instalment of our wine tasting events we bring a French flavour to the Chop House Edinburgh. At both Chop House Leith & Market St. we will explore a trio of big, full bodied French wines from Abbott’s & Delaunay & the languedoc region.
Limoux Chardonnay - made with hand picked grapes from three terroirs & aged for eight months in French Oak barrels. The nose shows apricot, preserved lemon with white flowers backed by vanilla spice.
Solaire Pinot Noir - Organically farmed grapes in the Domaine de la Métairie d'Alon estate, this mountainous area is perfect for varieties a roller climate. Forest floor notes open on the nose with raspberry becoming more prominent with ripe cherry, & chocolate.
Boreas Faugeres - Located about 20 miles north of the Mediterranean this blend features Syrah, Grenache, Carigan & Mourvédre. The grapes ripen slowly, producing juice to make wine with plenty of freshness. After 3 months of ageing in French oak the finished wine is a deep garnet-red & shows red & black berries & cherry.
These three fantastic wines have been carefully selected with the Autumn & Winter months in mind and will be accompanied by an equally impressive food offering, including our delicious steak, courtesy of the Chop House kitchen.
