February Wine Tastings
- Posted: 19th February 2018
February sees Chop House embark on an Italian wine tasting journey as we host two events at the bar.
Home to some of the oldest wine producing regions in the world, Italian wines are renowned for their broad variety (over 300 grape varieties from over 20 regions). The result is a selection of fantastic wines with endless food matching possibilities, especially with steak. For our tasting events we have hand selected three fantastic wines with each glass enjoyed with Chop House steak & seafood.
Barbera di Alba - long fermentation times in oak barrels produces a garnet-red wine with a dry, quite full bodied palate which shows cherry, currant & spice.
Vino Nobile Montepulciano Lodola - a beautifully balanced wine consisting of 9% Sangiovese & 10% Merlot which has been matured for two years in large oak barrels. Boasting intense aromas of plum & red berry fruits backed with floral & spice notes.
Gavi diGavi La Toledana - due to the length of time the grapes are allowed to stay on the vine the resulting juice is concentrated & the final unoaked wine has rich & ripe fruit flavours with hints of honey.
Our tasting events are always a relaxed & informative affair with only 14 tickets sold (max). Priced at £10 you will also receive a £10 lunch gift card on the day of the event. To purchase tickets give us a call at the Chop House you would like to attend or visit us.
