Award Winning Guest Breed

We love meeting people who are just as passionate about great food as we are here at Chop House. As part of our continued search to find the best beef we recently visited award winning Irish supplier Hannan & were instantly impressed.

A 12ft wall of 1,000 hand-cut Himalayan rock salt bricks imported from the foothills of the Himalayas are used to dry-age the meat to perfection. Himlayan salt is exceptional in terms of it’s purity & flavour-enhancing qualities & creates the perfect environment for the ageing process. Over a period of 28-45 days, it concentrates the flavour of the meat, seals the natural juices & purifies the air in the room, producing totally unique, flavoursome & award wining beef.

Peter Hannan produces the best beef in Ireland & supplies some of the top UK steak restaurants & we are lucky enough to have a limited supply of salt aged Glenarm estate shorthorn as our guest breed available at both Chop House Leith & Market St. If you love steak as much as we do be sure to visit & experience this fantastic guest breed.
