New Chop House Menu

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the arrival of the new Chop House menu & we’re sure you’ll love what we have created. With Summer here & the Edinburgh Fringe Festival just around the corner what better time to enjoy our new food offering as part of your steak visit to the Chop House. 

It’s been a difficult task trying to improve the menu as there were some incredible dishes that received fantastic feedback so a few big & bold decisions were required. What stays & what goes? How can we improve? Although our charcoal grilled steak is at the heart of what we do our varied starter selection is an incredibly important part of our offering as we understand our customers love something different before their main steak event. With this in mind we’ve introduced delicious new dishes such as the sesame squid with chilli butter & coriander ’slaw, hot chicken skewers with whipped blue cheese & crab claws with chipotle mayo. The short rib scotch egg, BBQ fillet tail are another couple of stand out additions as is the burrata salad & pickled onion which bursts with flavour & also features on our Express Lunch menu.  The mussels in bone marrow broth is one more new starter dish to make your menu decision even more difficult. All are fantastic and as always we suggest picking a few to share for the table to enjoy as much as possible & avoid any food envy.  

Moving onto mains our new BBQ lamb rump with chimichurri is a taste & texture sensation & goes great with our new side dishes such as the green beans with chilli butter or watercress with caper vinaigrette. Lemon sole scrumpy fried with jalapeño tartare is our take on the traditional fish & chips and is an excellent alternative to our steak offering. Dessert wise (there’s always room) we’ve added the perfect pudding for summer. Coal roasted peaches with honey, creme fraiche sprinkled with cashew nuts is light, fruity yet decadent enough to satisfy that sweet tooth. The hot bacon sourdough brunch addition with charred tomatoes & grilled cheese is sure to brighten up your weekend, available Saturday & Sunday, 10am-3pm.

Our sharing & single steak selection remains unchanged as we feel the process which we follow from farm to plate is unrivalled & something we are incredibly passionate about. We fully understand how each cut of beef we butcher in-house should be treated & cooked after dry ageing. Cooking over our custom built, open flamed, charcoal grill is an art that our kitchen team have perfected. The smoky flavour & texture from each of our steaks has largely contributed to the reputation we have gained since opening the first Chop House Leith in September 2015. This reputation has been maintained with Chop House Market St. in the New Waverley Arches development and we can’t wait for you to enjoy our new menu alongside our range of hand crafted cocktails & wine from around the world.
